Info concerning canteen service during week of 10/9/2018

Dear Parents,

As promised, here is an update on the kitchen situation.

Firstly, a few words on the background: the works had been requested a long time ago and should have been performed during July and August, to be completed well before the new school year. Due to a delay outside our and the school’s area of influence, they were postponed.

The canteen operations are owned and run by us parents through our APEEE. We are operating in the form of an AISBL (non-for-profit company), with a kitchen staff of 13 people to prepare the meals, and assisted by 40 people contracted from the company Atalian to help serve and clean. Those working directly and indirectly for us must be paid regardless of the delay, so the cost to us remains the same. We are doing our best in a difficult situation, with the focus on our children.

As you can see in the below picture, the works are not completed because the material for the drains has not yet been delivered. Without the installation of the drains the kitchen equipment cannot be installed.

Therefore, during the week of 10 – 14 September the APEEE kitchen team will offer an adapted menu to students. We tried to vary the offer as best as possible.

The service during week 10/9 – 14/9 will be as follows:

Nursery and primary students will receive soft sandwiches, desserts and water.

Secondary students will receive the following menu, desserts and water.

Monday 10/9/2018: Pasta salad with poultry (tomato mozzarella salad for vegetarians)

Tuesday 11/9/2018: Club sandwich (baguette with gouda cheese for vegetarians)

Thursday 13/9/2018: Salade niçoise (Greek salad for vegetarians)

Friday 14/9/2018: Club sandwich (baguette with gouda cheese for vegetarians)

All students registered for the canteen should go as usual to the canteen and sit at their respective tables. Kindergarten and primary students will be accompanied by their teachers

Attention for P3 pupils! Since the teachers’ canteen is not available, P3 students from the PT, DE and NL sections, who would normally eat there will be asked to eat the sandwiches in their classrooms. The teachers concerned have been contacted and have received their instructions.

The Cafète is open! The cafeteria is open every school day from 10:45 for secondary students, teachers and staff of the school.

We will come back to you at the end of next week to inform you about the progress of the works and the measures that will be taken for the week of 17 – 21 September 2018. We are trying our utmost to facilitate speeding up the process. However, it is upon the Régie des Bâtiments to do the job.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

APEEE Bxl II Woluwe
